PERSONALITY : the epitome of a the romantic knight ideal, arvin has a noble and kind soul. he will weep for fallen allies, he will respect foes who have died by his spear. he is an optimist, though this optimism is often a bit naive. he tries to think the best of people, and will have difficulty understanding why someone would do something so cruel. because of these difficulties, he comes across as morally rigid and unwavering in his views.

APPEARANCE : arvin is a tall elezen man, comparable to the duskwights of the modern era, though he was born before the cultural divide of the two. he appears top heavy, a great deal of upper body strength as well as lower, and not as lean as is average of elezen. he has long, curling red hair, and a thick full beard. He sports freckles all over his body, though much is hidden 'neath armor. His ears are long and pointed up & back. he has green eyes and dark sclera, and red tattoos spiral over his eyes.

Biography

arvin served with honor and diligence the country of ishgard. he was a dragoon, true and kind, and was often seen in battle upon the back of the dravanian, embla, daughter of ratatoskr. they were close allies, and one was hardly seen without the other. having served beneath prince since they were young, arvin was soon raised into the honorable title of first knight of the prince. years later, when haldrath caught wind of his father's plans, rather than dissuade the plans or warn arvin of them, he sent arvin and embla away under the guise of investigating azys lla's ruins. glad to be of service, arvin left unquestioningly, and soon found himself and embla in dire straits to the creatures and experiments there. arvin was severely wounded, embla, panicked, made him ingest her blood before she placed him within an allagan stasis pod where he would soon heal.a thousand years would pass before he would be abruptly roused from his slumber and released from allagan machinery. stumbling about in a haze, he found the world had changed and moved on without him. lacking purpose, he began to travel the lands once he'd finally found himself out of the allagan ruins. displaced in time, and seemingly erased from history, it was all arvin could do to not break and despair. man has split from the dravanians, and he with them.he wouldn't find his purpose again 'til the scions of the seventh dawn bade him welcome. for now, he would keep his past private and observe this new era he's found himself in. wondering why neither embla nor haldrath himself came looking for him, arvin began his travels in an attempt to better understand what happened that fateful day.in truth, and 'tis a truth he shall ne'er come to lay bare, ser arvin had died that day in that terrible pod, and embla bore witness to his passing. the main who carries his appearance and soul both is naught but an allagan clone, created in the modern era and with no directive. and so the question arises: if nothing of the original remains despite taking the same shape, then is this a new person?

as with the high jump, so too does the spear dive persist. though his technique greatly varies from modern dragoons, as it was perfected by leaping from dragonback.

power once freely given from the great wyrm ratatoskr yet lingers in arvin, with a terrible shout heightened by draconic magicks, arvin is able to lower the enemy's magical defenses.

what later became dragonfire dive of the modern dragoon, arvin had perfected his dravanian blessing into a powerful dive straight down with spear and magic both.

hooks
out of time	Arvin's peculiar mode of speech stands out amongst others. As antiquated as his speech is, he seems quite naive to many features of the world that is considered common. Perhaps he needs a helping hand in learning some of these things...
noble heart over blood	Ser Arvin's bleeding heart has caught him up in misfortune, his services wrapped up in doing some noble prick's bidding for the time being. He's looking for an out, having found the Ishgard of his memory is not akin to reality.
hunter knight	Ser Arvin's services are open to those looking for help in hunting down great and terrible beasts. His one stipulation is he is unwilling to kill dragons, even if they are hostile remnants of Nidhogg's horde.
Research Needed	Not a well learned individual, Arvin requires the aid of others in such fields. The purpose? He wishes to learn what came of his family in the wake of the Dragonsong War, having seemingly been struck from history.
